Soft felted necklaces

The funky felted necklaces were so warmly welcomed, it just made me really happy!
Then I thought that there might be people who like more soft colors, so I made a series of soft felted necklaces... I like to work 'ton-sur-ton' so it was fun to make and hopefully easy to sell... ;)

Creative cooking

After years of postponing buying a new kitchen, we just couldn't wait any longer. The old cabinets and stove were nearly falling apart and just started to look really sad.
I love to sit in the kitchen. It's my favorite part of our house.
My little atelier is part of the kitchen too as it's right above it, like a vide, so I'm actually always in the kitchen. I mostly do my felting in the kitchen as you can see on the pictures below. Sometimes it's just really messy when I need to cook and all my supplies are laying around. I like to call it 'creative cooking' :)
I love to cook. Unfortunately I'm on a elimination diet for my allergies at the moment, so I don't have fun cooking because I can hardly use any ingredients! :(
But hey, see me in a couple of weeks: all slim and goodlooking! Perhaps I should do a before and after. :)
I can't describe how much fun it is in this kitchen. We should have done it years ago because now we have all the comfort I already wouldn't want to miss for the world anymore!
But still a lot of work to do: put tiles up and paint it in a nice bright & happy color...
Especially for Renate, I took some 'before' and 'after' photographs!

Frontpage by twolefthands

Twolefthands certainly doesn't have two left hands!
Actually, she has golden hands as she put this gorgeous treasury together which made it to the frontpage today! YAY! Thanks so much, Lefty! ;)
'My feelings' were in it and I got convo's from people telling me how much they liked them but they were unable to purchase them.
I told all those people the same thing: I actually don't want to sell them! ;) They are 'my feelings' you see. I just put them on Etsy to be able to create other people's feelings. If they do sell, I will have a hard time parting from them! But hey, that's life! :)
It already makes me happy that people enjoy looking at them and you know what? That's absolutely FREE!!! :)

Funky necklaces

On the Etsy-forum there was a thread with the title: 'Why I wouldn't buy from your shop'.
The idea behind the thread was to look at the shop of the last post and give two reasons (preferably more) why you wouldn't buy from their shop. e.g. not looking for that type of item, too expensive, excessive shipping costs, not my style/colours, bad photos, bad descriptions, ugly tag... whatever.
This may seem extremely negative but will in fact give sellers very positive directions in regards to what they can do better.

I love getting feedback and if it's negative, I'm always eager to improve things.
The critique somebody gave me was that I used boring colors.
So I let myself go, bought myself some hip, flashy colored merinowool and made these necklaces...
Now I do hope they will sell, otherwise I will sent them as my Secret Santa present! :) *LOL*

Out of town

Karlita, a fellow Etsian, is out of town. Actually she's getting inspiration in Thailand. She has a great shop where she sells wonderful scarfs, jewelry and accesoiries. At the moment she has a contest running to win one of those amazing scarfs. All you have to do is visit her blog and leave a message. Piece of cake! (Oh no, I said cake - the magic word on the EST-thread) *LOL*

Frontpage by Munieca

Munieca put my scratching cards in a treasury and it made the frontpage.
Yaelfran told me it was there - luckily otherwise I would have missed it!
Kreativlink send me this printscreen.
Do check out the shops of these great artists! Incredible what a boost the frontpage does to your shop. In a short period of time, I had 435 more views on my scratching cards and lot more visitors & hearts in my shop too. YAY!

Background

Thought about changing the background of my photo's in my Etsy-shop. It's really hard to photograph some colors (like red) on a dark background because this absorbs so much of the color. It doesn't give the customer a right sense of the item and that has been bugging me for a long time now.
It is a huge job to change it all but I think it's worth it.
I don't like too many different backgrounds as I think it looks a bit messy. There's no way to switch items around on Etsy, so if you use different backgrounds, they are always mixed up.
I have done it for some of my greetingcards already.
You can see the difference here:

Now I just need enough bright days to do more photograpy...
