Challenge: minimalism

This weeks challenge of the European Streetteam was initiated by Jetty from JKphotography. If you see Jetty's work, you will understand why she chose the theme minimalism. I loved the theme and wanted to make something in porcelain paperclay but since I don't have a kiln and a week is so short, I decided to do something completely different from what I usually do. That's why I love these challenges. It gets me out there exploring different things! I saw this little Raku resin bead in my beadbox and also some black disc beads I bought at a fair maybe 10 years ago and decided to play with those. How fun! It's available in my shop! :)
You can also view all the entered challenges in Jetty's blog.

The making off...

... felted necklaces! :)
I like to make 'em in batches. It's much easier then do them one by one. And since I felt like I needed some more colors in my shop, I made loads...

First I make sure I have the wool at the right size.
It has been lovely weather outside so that's were I have been felting lately.

These are all dry... and ready to add clasps to them.

Finished but still a lot of work because these need to be photographed and listed in my Etsy shop. I will do that in the next few days...

What did I read?

Being on vacation also means time to read. I always carry a book with me just in case my partner wanders off to some place and starts talking to complete strangers. For some reason he loves it.
It gives me time to read... :)
I'm particularly found of literary thrillers. Since the new book of Nicci French wasn't released yet, I read two books by Karin Slaughter: Zoenoffer and Triptiek. I must say that if you are in search for a good read, I can recommend both. Excellent, thrilling reads!

Cute overload

Are you ready for some cute overload?
Unpink asked me to make these cards for her. How I loved doing that!
This one is for a triplet that's on it's way. Unpink doesn't know the sexes yet so she will put on the little crowns herself when they are born.
Unpink came up with the text, I did the felt tokens - great co-operation.The other card is with a slightly larger baby head because there's only one baby on it's way.
I think I need to make more of these to list in my shop.

Custom work

Thought the greeting cards with a felt token inside were cute?
Well, this set is even more so since they are just little cards!
Sarah asked me to make these especially for her and I loved doing that.
They are absolutely adorable! :) Thanks Sarah! :)

At last: a moss terrarium... from France

Since I saw this picture from Neawear on Flickr, my mind wouldn't let go of the idea to make my own moss terrarium. So on the last day of our vacation, I gathered some rocks & moss and took it home. That's why I have a French moss terrarium now. Is there such a thing as a 'French moss terrarium' or am I being silly? :)
There are more moss terrarium photo's in my Flickr!

How to organise a Secret Santa?

Make your teammembers ready for Secret Santa by spreading the word that he is in town.
Write a message in your Yahoo-group (or other) so people can sign up.
Collect all the names in a database in Yahoo (or other). Here is an example:
Send off the questionnaire to all participants. Convo me if you want to have an example of a questionnaire.
Mark all the received questionnaires in your database so that you know that everybody returned their questionnaire.
Match the participants according to the questionnaire. Try to find the perfect match so people will be happy and content.
Send off the questionnaire of the participant to his/her Secret Santa & mark it in your database so that people can see if they have received their name.
Make people let you know when they send and received their gift and mark that in the database.
Result: much joy and happy faces when they open their gifts! :)
