Challenge of the week

YaY! I'm the boss of this weeks European Streetteam's challenge.
The last challenge was hosted by Matilou and you can find all the entries here.

I wanted to come up with something really difficult but since I'm feeling a bit ill, I'll make it easy on you all. Just don't have enough energy to make it too complicated. You guys are really lucky! :)
The theme of this week will be... CUTE... and this is what it means:

cute

Le renouveau

This is a necklace made especially for the European Streetteam 'challenge of the week'.
We try to have fun and challenge each other in our creativity. This challenge was initiated by Matilou .
She challenged us with the theme 'Le renouveau' which is in English revival or renewal.
First I thought of making something from the seventies but then I thought about regaining energy... For me, this necklace represents that since it starts with a little bead at the bottom and it grows bigger and bigger...
You can find all the items made for this challenge in Matilou's Flickr account. This necklace is available in my shop.

Maybe...

... going back to work isn't so bad after all if you work in a craft supply shop? ;) I wanted to share some pictures of the place I work. It's full of color so it's a happy place. Two days a week, I work in the shop. It's a shop were they sell over 12.000 products ranging from craft supplies, children's books, creative books, games, juggling materials, music instruments and the uniform of the youthclub it is part off. Having such a diversity of articles makes it double fun as there's also a great diversity of people. I love being asked difficult questions so I get to search for the right answer. Sometimes I don't know the answer and then I'm on a quest to find out. :) I love the contact with the customers and I always try to make shopping a happy experience for them. I think that makes it fun for both.
The other three days of the week, I work in the headoffice of this chain of stores in Antwerp.
There my job is also very diverse but I will tell a bit more on that later when I've got some pictures to show. :) They won't be as colorful as these though...

And they lived happily ever after...

This card is a result of a custom order I once made. I needed to make a series of cards for an anniversary and I had so much fun doing it that I added this card as an extra for the customer. After all, she gave me the confidence and opportunity to make something extraordinary! I love it when customers ask me things like that! :)
I thought it was so cute that I could also list it in my shop. :)

Free fabric

We are looking for curtains for our kitchen. So last week we went to a home decoration shop. They have everything for interior design like paint, wallpaper, cushions, curtains etc.
I went mad when I saw the amount of curtain samples in the shop. Amazing. They all hang on little clothes hangers and have all different textures and designs. I really loved to touch all the fabric samples. Most of them were way too expensive to even consider.Of course I couldn't resist to ask if they sometimes get rid of the samples... And they did, so I got some! :)
A great way to get some free fabric if you ask me. It's not like these are large amounts or anything but it's great to make some little pouches like Fleurfatale did from napkins she found in the sales. I thought that was a fab idea, read all about it in her blog. Now I just need to learn how to sew... :)
