Colorful crochet hairpins
Since the babuschka key chains I planned to make for the fair are taking too much time to make (I'm a slow crocheter), I decided to crochet some nice little flowers to make hairpins from.
They are quick to make, fun to wear and add great color to your day! :)
And if you haven't seen my new postcards yet, hop over here and leave a comment, you might win some! ;)

How to make your own packaging?
I'll be attending the craftparking fair in Maastricht (Netherlands) on the 16th of August. Since this is my first craft fair ever, I just want to be fully prepared. I made some personalised packaging & had fun making it.
It's so easy & cheap and it looks supercool I think.
Here is what you need:
Tempera paint, cardboard plate to mix paint, paintbrush, empty paper bags (you can buy them at papersupply shops or places where they sell packaging materials), a kitchen sponge, a sharpie marker, a template of your logo or avatar, a sharp knife.
Cut out the logo or avatar. If you don't have that, you can certainly find some nice easy drawings on the internet. Don't take something too complicated as this is not suited for very detailed logo's.
Trace the outline of the logo onto the sponge.
Cut out the inside part of the logo.
Trace it onto the sponge.
Then take the sharp knife and cut into the traced lines. Make it about 5mm or 0,20inches deep.
Then with the tip of the knife, take away the bits of sponge.
For the outside part, you can cut away the excess sponge.
It should like this when you are finished. It doesn't matter that it's not looking extremely nice, it's the result that counts.
Then mix some paint in your liking. I of course need lime green. :)
Apply some paint to the sponge with the painbrush.
Then sponge it onto the paper bag.
I have a little stamp with my Etsy store and I stamp it below the logo. It's perhaps a bit small but I think the logo is still recognisable.
So they dry & they are done! :)

Hope this inspired you to make your own packaging. Give it a try, it's fun! :)

They finally arrived...
So happy to announce the birth of the first ArtMind postcards! :)
It has taken a while before I decided on it all but now they are printed and looking good!
These postcards are a great alternative way to collect some of my art. Either you sent it to someone special or you frame them. They will sure make you or someone else smile...
The front of the cards have a picture of a mini art feeling, the back of the cards have the following line on the left hand corner of the card:
Feeling cute?
Feeling ambitious?
Feeling sad?
Feeling curious?
Feeling sick?
Feeling special?
These cards can be sent for many different occasions: a birthday, a graduation, a move, a sickness, a funeral,...
Of course I'll be giving away a few sets as I would love them to spread the wor(l)d! :)
In case you would like to win a set, please leave a comment below.
I'll pick three happy people next week & send them a set of these fun postcards! :)

Flickr favorites
1. Energy in Bananas, 2. sunflower, 3. ...making bathtime lots of fun..., 4. Brain FuelAfter the recent hot weather, my pace got a little slow and I need some new energy to keep going. This mosaic started with the little duck taking a refreshing bath! I combined the yellow and blue in the multicolor search lab and found these fun fruit labels! Haha, they made me smile and somehow I think I need to eat some of those bananas to fuel my brain! LOL :)
If you like to play this week, make your mosaic and add a link to your blog or Flickr in Mister Linky (click on the button below and fill in your name with the link to your blogpost or Flickr picture). I'll pop over to have a look at yours. Can't wait to see your creations and find new favorites! :)

Little break
This weekend I'll be taking a little break: having some nice time with friends while camping out & sitting around a camp fire. Sometimes, life just needs a slower pace & it's good to escape daily routines from time to time. I'm sure it will be refreshing & fun. What are your plans for the weekend? Hope they are happy! Enjoy!
