Fail

So, I thought I woudl try the mould that I made the other day. Of course I couldn't wait for the result and opened it too soon. I have two parts now, not quite what I wanted it to be. Oh well, it will make a good test sample...

Anyone an idea what this will be? :)

New start

A fresh year, a fresh start in the studio too. I'm finding it hard to balance my ceramic work with a little baby around but I'm sure things will get easier. Last fall, Anna (afjewellery & LilaRubyKing) and I have been discussing a new line. I find it so exciting to exchange ideas and discuss new work. And since Pinterest allows to have secret boards, we actually can have a joint inspiration board! Superfun!

Apart from that, I'm also doing a try out of a new product. It will take some time to develop and I hope it will work because I love the idea! Here's a sneak preview of work in progress...  I know it looks like a bauble but it's not! :)

Sweet

Elzeline from Paperfection send me this image together with her sweet wishes.
I love how she transformed the happy girl into a X-mas version!
And while looking up the link from her shop, I came across these beautiful Japanese paper stars!
Ohh, how I love them, they are so pretty!

I throw some stars around today and hope that you will have a lovely New Year's Eve.

Dusty

Back in the studio also means back to sanding pieces... Bweurk!
I sand most of the porcelain before it even goes into the kiln and then again after the first firing and again after the porcelain firing. That's a lot of sanding but then the porcelain feels really soft even though it's stonehard...

Cookie cutter love

I love cookie cutters! And while posting these images, I regret that I didn't take one of my cookie cutter jar. It's nice and big and always puts a smile on my face - even if it doesn't involve cookies...

Back in the studio

Last Tuesday I started working again in my part-time job so I thought it was about time to set up my studio again too. The maternity leave passed by superquick and I thoroughy enjoyed every minute of it. The past months, I had lots of broken nights (and I still have) and busy days that I spent with baby Julie. We get to know each other so much better and every day we have new adventures ahead of us.
The good thing about working at home part-time is that I don't have to miss out too much on seeing our little girl grow up. I'm very happy about that as she grows superfast like all kids do I suppose.

Anyway, I started out with some porcelain work as that doesn't take up too much space on my table so there is still place for Julie and her play blanket & baby gym. It makes the transition to 'back to work' a little easier... :)

Winner uppercase magazine

Thank you all for adding a comment to the Uppercase give-away. All good reasons to get a copy of the magazine and I wish I had enough to send you all one but too bad there is only one lucky winner.
Random.org picked a random number and the lucky winner is Wilma.
Please send me your address so that I can send you the copy!
