Sad news

after fighting cancer for 4 years
52 chemo therapy's
lots of strength and courage
lots of fear and anger
lots of tears and sadness
but also very grateful
for the life that she had
for the family that she loved
for the joy and friendship that she recieved

my mom passed away on the 14th of May
it has been an unfair battle
but she fought it so bravely
eventually she lost

now we're left with memories
fond memories
of a very loving and caring person

she'll live on in our hearts
forever

thank you mom
for everything

Workshop results transfers

Above are some results of yesterday's transfer workshop! It was such a lovely group of people
together and we had great fun cutting, applying and eating cookies. :)
The results are super too! It's all in the kiln now so cross fingers that it will all come out well!

Special beads

I've been asked to make some porcelain beads of a certain diameter. Not really easy as the porcelain schrinks when being fired. So I've been making and measuring and writing it down and hope that I will get the perfect bead diameter when they are fired. Fingers crossed! :)

Yesterday I had a few lovely ladies at my workshop transfers. They made lovely, unique tableware and besides working on their designs, they chatted the afternoon away. What a lovely way to spend the afternoon! :)

#patternsplease

On Facebook, I saw a hashtag #patternsplease by Janine from Uppercase magazine.

I got inspired to make some ceramic patterns. They are negatives from textured wallpaper and after they are fired, I can press clay onto them and get the positives. 

I love playing with textures and patterns, do you?

About 5 years ago, I had an account on Facebook. After a while, I decided that I didn't like it anymore. I felt like it wanted to know too much about my personal life and I didn't like that, so I closed it.
Then I started organising 1m2 with my friend Annemiek. I opened a Facebook account under that name and started using it. After a while, I noticed that Facebook does have a positive effect business wise so I decided to open my personal account again. Much joy for my friends who have been trying to convince me for ages to be on Facebook but I kept holding back. Marta, you finally succeeded in the nearly impossible! ;)
I've been back on Facebook for nearly a year now and I see the effect it has on my business. A few weeks ago, I only had one participant for the workshop mould making. After making an event of it on Facebook, the course filled up within 2 hours. I think that's a sign of how powerful Facebook can be on you business. So, if you would like to add me as your friend, I'm here.
