OK, don't laugh, this is my first attempt at the slippers. I bought this lovely pattern but my slippers don't look like 'em at all. However, Tara from Mamachee, has been so helpful giving me advise and explaining more crochet abbreviations. It's a weird language, I tell you. Actually, I typed all the abbreviations out in the pattern because otherwise I wouldn't be able to read it. I messed up tremendously but I won't give up. Tommorrow is a new day and I'll try again.
It's nice to have a little change from claying for a while. I hope to finish them sometime this week though... :)Excuse me for the bad quality of the picture but it's hard to photograph at night without lightbox...
Oh sweetie, but I do have to laugh!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so funny, ehehehe. Can't help it ;)
But you know what? You'll laugh someday, when you mastered the crochet thing and could talk and write all in crochet abbreviations! Believe me, I have a couple of "slippers" on my knitting biography and they just make me proud I wouldn't give it up until I make it.
And it feels great when you do, just wait for it.
Hugs,
nanouke
Well yes... there may be improvement possible. A teeny tiny bit... :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! Next time you'll get it, don't worry :)
I also think that the cotton yarn I bought is too soft to make 'em look like the slippers on the picture of Mamachee... but it will be nice on my feet. That is if I ever finish them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement ladies! :)
I'm not laughing, they look better than if I had tried and I can kind of see where you're going which means I can imagine what your slippers will look like when you've mastered the skill.
ReplyDeleteGood for you!
Ooooh Mitsy!! First, your crochet skills already beat mine out a million times over, and I bet they will turn out wonderfully on try number 2!! (I will wait patiently for mine *wink, wink*) :) :)
ReplyDeleteGood Luck, Good Luck, Good Luck! Next post I bet we'll see you modeling your brand new slippers! :)
am sorry but before i even started to read i started to laugh! i know this predicament :)
ReplyDeletewhat kills me is trying to get the right tension! with determination like this u will get there for sure.
I admire your determination, I gave up on knitting or crocheting along time ago! I love the colors you picked!
ReplyDeletesorry, I did laugh but but only because it looks so lonely and poor when on that photo, I cant crochet or knit myself, gave up that after I tried a couple of times.
ReplyDeleteYou will lear.
ReplyDeleteEven when you have learned to crochet it can be difficult to read your way through the language.
You can try it out on something flat , just to practice. Or just go for it. You will mangage.

Sorry a tiny giggle escaped me, at least you have the courage to try and follow a pattern. This is much better than I am doing. And it does have the right kind of shape, most assuredly you will succeed with the next attempt!
ReplyDeleteI didn't make a picture of my first attempt at the babybooties..but they looked way funnier than your try right now. You'll do fine. Keep working on it. You'll feel great wearing them later! If you need any more help, let me know? X
ReplyDeleteHe heee heeeeee :)
ReplyDeleteooops sorry, I wasn't supose to laugh... :)
Good luck with your next try!! :D
=D Best of luck
ReplyDeleteyou are on your way there!!!
