Call me ambitious or crazy but I bought the pattern to this blanket yesterday.
I have been inspired by the brown owls who started to crochet a granny square each day to have a blanket in no time!
I do want to make a granny square blanket too one day but I so fell in love with this happy, colorful blanket that this just has be made first! Ha! :)
Now I need to decide on what yarn I'll use. The original blanket is made of merino wool yarn but I'm thinking of making it in cotton 'cause the colors are just so bright and happy.
As soon as I have decided I'll keep you updated on the progress!
Wow, that blanket is so gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteCrochetting is adictive, I also had a time that I couldn't stop :) Making the same pattern over and over is less fun though, but with all kind of colors it will atleast cheer you up :)
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with making this gorgeous blanket! Your creativity and energy never ceases to amaze me. :)

ReplyDeleteyes, do it! that blanket is so much fun!! I want one.. too bad I'm not as ambitious or skilled with yarn. :)
ReplyDeleteThat blanket is total eye candy! I <3 colors!
ReplyDeleteOh my! when we were kids my mum used to make this type of blankets all the time! Each on of use had one.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is more a knitter. So with all the little left overs of yarn (we are talking about kisten up kisten) she would come up with this blankets. When i went to University, I got one which lasted me until I came here to NL... and it was too heavy to bring along.
Show us the progress!
Way to go! I love this blanket! I can't wait to see your progress on it. Have fun!
ReplyDeletethis is a wonderful blanket!
ReplyDeletei made a little one (granny square blanket) for my new baby which will be born in september - then my son saw this and told me that he also wants to have such a blanket - but it should be a little bit bigger - the little one was so easy and fast to make - but the bigger one is much work...
this blanket you show here is wonderful - i love the pattern and the combination of the bigger and smaller sqares! great! i´m thinking about making this next...
good luck!
What a lovely pattern! I'm sure yours will be beautiful. We did crochet at our last brown owls meeting and I'm afraid it didn't set my world on fire. But I love the finished pieces so i think I'll have to give it another go.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful pattern ! I've always wanted to make one of those blankets too but haven't gotten to it. hehe Post some pictures up when you get done :)
