Colored clay slib or engobe
Oxides
New colors oxides.
The last one on this row is a mixture of cobalt an black and it gives a great purple.
The wall art came out nice too. I do regret that I colored the babuschka blue on the free fall tile though. I think it turned out too blue. Some of these will have a second firing with oxides so they will have a different background.
they look great!! Good job, Mitsy :)
ReplyDeleteLove the wall art, very pretty !
ReplyDeletethey look supercool! My fave is the white caged babuschka.
ReplyDeleteYay! Looking great!
ReplyDeleteWhat an impressive lot of beautiful work!!!
ReplyDeleteI admire you for making all these sample tiles. I can never bring myself to making samples; hubby always tells me it would be better if I did, but somehow I don't have that patience. If I have something in my head, I must make it immediately ... pity, because as you say it would save me lots of time.
ReplyDeleteI love the wall art, and I agree with you about the blue for the free fall.
Oh Mitsy, you have been so productive! My fav is the caged babuschka on the left. I like the lighter color oxides best and the mix of cobalt and black. But they are all beautiful!! Can't wait to see them in your shop. :)
ReplyDeleteOooh I do love your colour experiments here - I think there will be some gorgeous work coming along with them :)
ReplyDeleteAll gorgeous, like we would expect anything less. At first glance, I was thinking 'what kind of German is that on the bottles', only to quickly realize that's not German. :D
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how organised you are , they look great !
ReplyDeleteWhat patience...my hat off to you!
ReplyDeleteThe do look very fabulous and I too agree on the blue one :-D
looking reaaaaally nice! I ussually make samples too and then oaint have of the little tile with transparent glazing just to know how it'd look a bit brighter... in case I decide to go down that path. But the tiles like that they could be a great art piece! mount them on a frame and on that wall!
ReplyDeleteoooh, the wall arts are gorgeous and tempting!!!
ReplyDeleteI love to see you samples all lined up!

I really love these new works!
ReplyDeleteThe parachute one is so cute!
I like seeing the process, exploring the mind of the artist, so to speak, and I agree totally with you--that purple is great. Beautiful art piece--just stunning!
ReplyDeletei love to see your blog posts mitsy, it's always an adventure about what you are doing .. so organised and everything is incredibly easy to follow (even from a non-clayers perspective) .. they look fantastic!! awesome work my dear :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh... you are diligent and PROLIFIC. It's so terrific how you record your behind-the-scenes; it really makes us all appreciate how much care and time you put into everything. I adore the parachute babushka!
ReplyDeleteDelightful Post!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I must do this sampling thing. I was dedicated to the idea of creating samples, but never got around to doing it, and it shows in the surprises I experience (some fun, some not so)...
Thanks for inspiring me to do so... I have some scrap clay that I'll combine and roll it out for this purpose. Very attractive photos!
David
