The past weekend we went to a flea market. The weather was perfectly sunny and I just loved strolling around with the feeling having too little eyes to see it all. I had hoped it would have been a bit more brocante with more old stuff but it was a lot of junk.
How I'd love to rummage through a box of old thread, find a fab bird cage or buy an old fashioned alarmclock so we could give it to our neighbor who treats us daily with her loud alarmclock at 6am. We did find some old tin plates for next to nothing - yeah - we'll be melting them and re-use the tin.
Last weeks favorite mosaic brought me to one of my favorite places...

ReplyDeleteI always hope the same when going to a flea market - to find some amazing vintage treasure that everyone else has passed by. Even though I haven't ever found such a thing - the hope is what keeps us returning time after time.

Mitsy I just wanted to let you know that the beautiful Felt spring birds have landed at my house and they are amazing! They have been photographed and have a special place in my post today! Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I wish I had access to a great selection of flea markets. But alas I do not so I'm dreaming through your flickr set. *le sigh*
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to be around for the next two flickr faves, but I've set the blog to post two (cause I just love it so much)! I'm going to have to try and organise someone to come back and link me into the list - is that too weird, or am I just a flickr lover? ;)
Love to visit Flea markets. You never know what you will find...
ReplyDeleteI love flea markets, thrift shops, second hand, vintage, past out, antique.....

ReplyDeleteI love your phrase about too little eyes to see it all! How true is that! Flea markets are always such a treat, even walking away empty handed feels like a winning situation.

I love going to the flea market but have never found one yet that is full of great vintage fabrics or ribbons to rummage through. Perhaps we should take my sporty little blue car in my mosaic and find the perfect flea market sale! *grin*. Have a fabulous day :)
ReplyDeleteI love this week's mosaic. I try to wake up early enough to go to a flea market on a Sunday, sometime, but I can't seem to get it done...
ReplyDeleteIt looks so wonderful! Reminds me of an outdoor market I visited when in Amsterdam. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, to have that birdcage, just to tease my cat! ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic!
