I have been taking things a bit slowly lately. Blame it on the good weather and me wanting to enjoy every bit of it. I tell myself it's OK not to have to do stuff all the time. It was hard in the beginning but now I can get used to that.
I decided to make some more wall art and I'm prepping ceramic canvasses for that. If I want to apply colored clay slib, they need to be leatherhard to be able to do so.
I have been sketching bits and pieces and even though I'm a bit afraid of blank canvasses, I can't wait to make 'em 'real'.
Want to show your creative space? Hop over to Kootoyoo's! It's fun!
gha :) doesn't happen very often but I'm the first one to write on the "blank canvas" comment page :P
ReplyDeleteIt's good to get some rest once in a while :P
I think that's one of the toughest things: taking it slow. I'm happy you found a way to do so.. stepping back a bit can change your point of view and inspire! Go Mitsy!
ReplyDeleteHooray for the slow stuff I say. Yes, yes enjoy the good weather.
ReplyDeleteIf I can be slower and organise, I will more productive I think! So you made a good decision Mitsy!:)
ReplyDeleteSlower times are good, one need to recharge your battery from time to time :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weather, of course you don't have to do stuff all the time. It's nice to put the thinking cap aside for a while to let the hair grow back. :)
ReplyDeletenice to slow down! i find it hard to do too. lovely fresh new 'canvases'. are they therapuetic to make?
ReplyDeleteThere is so much value in slow times. BUT I am in the middle of a creative frenzy.... and I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteSlowing down is soooooooooooo needed from time to time to keep our spirit living =) so I am so for it! can't wait to see your tiles when ya're done =)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I do nothing at all some time...
ReplyDeleteJust sitting on the sofa and sipping tea...
Anyway to bring your studio outdoors?! wouldn't that be ideeeeal... excited to see your slib paintings!
ReplyDeleteTaking things slow is just what people need to do. Everyone is rushing somewhere somehow. I am glad you stand out from the croud.
ReplyDeleteAm I boring for really liking that picture as is? I guess I've always been a minimalist ... and I really like squares.
ReplyDeleteGreat advice! I have the same problem. I feel like I always need to be doing things. It's okay to do nothing sometimes too. I've learned that from living in Italy and watching the Italians.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the results!
Have a great weekend!
What a fabulous idea! Looking forward to seeing what you paint :) Kx
ReplyDeletep.s. I 'm scared of blank canvases too!
