Oh puppies!

I bought this Dachshund cookie cutter a while back as I thought it was mighty cute.
I pressed it into clay slabs and fired them. When they were bisque fired, I applied happy colors of glaze to them. Guess what I exclaimed when I opened the kiln?

Oh, puppies! :)

I'm wondering if I should make brooches or magnets from these...
What would you prefer?

I really would love to take a class in ceramics... I should do some research and see what's on offer in my town.

Have you ever seen the work by Bison?
They're in the town where I live. Every so often I go into their store and just feel their items. So lovely...

  33. they are quite beautiful. so simple to make i bet too!

the color spectrum you use is quite perfect. I could really see theses as magnets. That is my first instinct, but could see them as brooches....for the right buyer.

  36. hehehehe i said the same thing you said when i saw the pictures - PUPPIES! i'm such a sucker for animals, and especially little replicas!

maybe you could have a parade on your fridge, by putting magnet on them and adding some bones? or a simple, chunky necklace with the doggie as a pendant?

puppies make me so warm and fuzzy, & now i'm giggling stupidly as i think of puppies! :P
