1. Things to do today: Step out of comfort zone., 2. There might be plenty more Pebbles on the Beach, but I like this one., 3. wave crash, 4. Comfort zone and shadows
A few days ago, LaPomme on Etsy asked us some advice in her blog about some new stuff that she made recently. She regularly steps out of her comfort zone and tries out different things. I love that idea and got inspired by it over the past few days.
I dropped all that was keeping me busy and experimented, drew, used materials I normally don't use and in the end came up with a new idea. I'm really excited about how forcing yourself to step out of your comfort zone can be so refreshing. Yes, it does have limitations, as I can't draw really well, but it felt great to push myself into other mediums then I usually use.
It's like looking around on the beach for shells and pebbles and picking up that particular one.
It's like jumping the waves and get excited about your pants getting wet.
It's like finding the balance of things again.
Try it, it's great! Thanks for the inspiration, Apol! :)
Last weeks favorite mosaic fits mine this week perfectly! :)
If you like to play this week, make your mosaic and add a link to your blogpost (NOT your blog please) or Flickr in Mister Linky (click on the button below and fill in your name with the link to your blogpost or Flickr picture).
It's a way to push yourself forward too, isn't it. Forces you to experiment ... love the mosaic!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant Mitsy! I'll try that as soon as I'm on my feet again.. I feel like being on a t junction and have to decide where to go or get stuck. This might just be what I need to do eh?
ReplyDeleteLovely post, superpretty mosaic, great inspiration.
Thanks! xo
love this Mitsy, it is spring out and time to try new and fresh things.
ReplyDeletetry to delete borders..
happy tuesday!
Go with the flow can be nice ... jumping aside ever nicer !
ReplyDeleteLove your mosaic and what it's all about...and now I'm curious what you've been up to...show us!
ReplyDeletei am on this process as well!
ReplyDeleteit is challenging, but can be very hard life if you bring it to the limits.
depends also if it is a choosen situation or if you lost your comfort zone for some reasons....
in any way it is a growing experience.
What a great idea! Its so easy to get into a rut. May well try that myself today
ReplyDeletethat's a very huge inspiration...
ReplyDeleteThat´s a wonderfull idea!
ReplyDeleteI think it's good to push yourself to :) For myself I find that challenging myself to create without patterns or directions in any form of craft is the most satisfying. To know that I made it and no one showed me how is so rewarding *grin*. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your new expierence!!
Beautiful collage and idea too...
ReplyDeleteI think it is always great to try new mediums, I do believe that best things are born this way. Error and trials are a way to make the sky the limit :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful post! I always think of my life, I agree with you. Love your mosaic!
ReplyDeleteYAY for trying out new things! Look forward to see your results! :)
ReplyDeleteWhoot-whoot for conquering fears, trying things out, making mistakes, getting things right, to the whole messy creative roller-coaster ride.
ReplyDeleteMy life's motto: "Game, let's do it!"
Kisses, Mitsy.
very pretty mosaic and very inspirational post !! I often try to get out my comfort zone ... but i have to work on it !!
ReplyDeleteGreat mosaic and inspiration for all of us. I only wish we could all make this exercise until it becomes second nature. A great second nature :)
ReplyDeleteWow,
ReplyDeletethis is stunning!!!!
What a great thought! I've been working on something new too :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you came up with!
Love the message in your mosaic... and I'm really needing to have the courage to step out of my comfort zone, I need some change indeed! Thank you for helping me with your words :)
ReplyDeleteMy mosaic is dedicated to Easter and I couldn't resist to add one of your lovely Bunnies :)
Happy Easter everyone!
This is such a wonderful way to get to know each other . Very beautiful mosaic and inspirational.
ReplyDeleteA great way to get unstuck. Thank you for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a beautiful post! I love what you've written, and I fully intend to take it to heart. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
ReplyDeletei totally agree, stepping out of the c.z. is a good and wise step to make. one never knows what other capabilities one has till it is done. :D love your mosaic!
ReplyDeleteI love Keri Smith's work (which is what your last favourite is based on.) It's so inspiring and if you haven't already, you should check it out. You'll love it!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmhhhh! I think I need to do that!! Great idea!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic!
When I started my painting business, everything was out of my comfort zone. Now that it has been going smoothly for several months, I find myself getting in normal routines with my creativity. I should probably stop out a bit to keep things fresh and exciting. Good reminder!
ReplyDeleteI love your mosaic: not just a collection of photos but with some meaning behind them. Gorgeous photos too. Thank you! Lucy xx
ReplyDeleteBeing out of the comfort zone is always risky, but so fun! I mean, without risk, there is no glory.
ReplyDeleteExperimenting and innovating in life is essential :)
Lovely mosaic..!!! Wish I could step out of my comfort zone.. It's so hard.. Love your post.. :)
ReplyDeleteI totally understand the hesitancy to go out of your comfort zone! When it comes to color, I lean toward black, white, khaki and not a lot of color. When I recently restarted crafting, I decided I really needed to add color to my crochet, etc... it was difficult but I'm glad I did!
ReplyDeleteI am so with you Mitsy... whenever I do leave my comfort zone I love the exhilaration!... it's just making myself do it ;) Kx
ReplyDeleteI find that looking at other artist's works gets me unstuck when I'm needing inspiration the most. Great post!
ReplyDeletewell now I'm inspired to step out of the box. Great mosaic, especially the note:
ReplyDelete1. step out of the box.
2. like it!
... the "like it" part was the most inspiring. One can't just be uncomfortable with growth, to really grow one must find a way to enjoy the ride.
~Jenn
so love it !!!
