Organize your art

When I came across the work of Swiss artist and comedian Ursus Wehrli I got instant happy. His 'tidy up art' is funny and clever and it reminds me a bit of I myself try to organise things sometimes...

For those who know me a bit better, they know that I'm very color sensitive. V.E.R.Y.
And even though I can be very messy, I love everything organised, lined up or piled up neatly.
You can call me freaky but I tend to organise by color: white, yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, green, black. And it always makes me happy to see a lovely rainbow of color whenever I finish. Even when there are only 3 or 4 colors, they will always be put in the same color order.
I think it makes life happier. I actually applied Ursus technique to my happy field. :)

Don't you get instantly happy from that? I do!

Talk about organised, my partner and I sometimes discuss how much easier it would be to shop by alphabet. Since I don't do the shopping around here, I make lists. I try to make the list in that way that my partner can go into the shop and grab everything as he goes. But it would be supercool if we could just make our list in a spreadsheet, sort it by alphabet and go to the Alphabet-shop. :)

Love this post. I love sorting by color - pencils, wool yarn ....
But I love the colormix photo best. The small girls looks so happy and dancing.
Had die ook gezien, heerlijk hé ! Veel succes hé vandaag !
wonderful post!
I know exactly what you mean! I always sort my bead boxes by color and size. very satisfying!
This is so fabulous!! Great post. I am a bit of a colour and order freak myself, but yes I'm usually quite messy too... not sure how that works but anyway ;) We have a grocery list that everyone's meant to add to when things run out but I always end up re-writing it in order of the aisles at the supermarket.. fruit and veg, then bakery, then canned goods, cereal, etc etc ! ;) So funny. Thanks for the great laugh Mitsy. I love your happy field :) Kx
colour coordinated/ arranged stuff I think are more pleasing to the eye and much easier for the brain to absorb... less messy. love the photo of the happy girls chromatically organized!
i use to sort all of my pencils by colour, then i knocked the jars over :p haven't done it since :p
It must have been great fun to arrange and rearrange your little happy people. The blog post is great, the right pool picture amkes me smile! I love the left side of the pictures, I love a good mix, uniformity (even only by colour) makes me feel uncomfortable (but I guess that is a cultural thing) - and I think it is great that we are all different, we organize differently, therefore we think differently and come to different solutions (and I love a good mix of opinions as well :-).
Shopping by alphabet makes me laugh - I do teach website-usability, and one part is about structuring information. One of the examples my students have to work out is how to "arrange" a grocery shopping list of 12 ingredients, noone has ever done it by alphabet (at least until now).
