My creative space

When I came home yesterday, I found a little package on the table. It was from Sandra from ZsaZsaZsu. I did not order anything so I certainly was surprised & even more to see what was inside...
Some crochet samples she made with different kind of thread to see what works best. Bliss, material for me to drench into porcelain slib. Perfect timing as I planned to do a porcelain firing this weekend. Can't wait to see how it all turns out! Thanks so much, Sandra! :)

Can't wait to see what you'll be making with these crochet samples!
im really curious about the result
I'll be really curious to see how that worked I tried some similar things dipped in porcelain, some were nice, others didn't work. I mixed some cellulose fibres in the liquid porcelain to make it stronger.
Very exciting!
That looks really interesting Mitsy - can't wait to see what you do with them :)
Thanks for your great comment - I crocheted the green with embroidery thread and a number 2 hook so it is quite small (the photo makes it look bigger). I am very intrigued by your idea of using silk thread though - I'll definitely try it! Thanks for your wonderful suggestion - you're a good friend :) Kx
Now, I am curious!
Huh, interesting! I wonder how they'll look.
ooh that looks really exciting! i just noticed a comment above, is your name mitsy? my name is mitzi! :)
What does dipping it in porcelain do? Do you essentially lose the original piece in the firing process?

Wat een geweldig idee, ik ben benieuwd wat er uit de overn komt!__Heerlijk zo'n verrassingspakketje in de post.
oooh, interesting. and great timing!
wow Mitsy! I can't wait to see the results!
Ik ben hééééél benieuwd wat dit zal geven !!!!!!!
Hmm, I have to let you know that I didn't end up drenching the beads into the porcelain slib. The crocheting was done around solid wood beads and I've never fired anything solid wood in my kiln before. I'm familiar with paper and leaves etc. but not solid wood. I don't want to take any risks with the spirals of my kiln. But more experiments coming up soon! :)
That dark brown button looks AWESOME!
I wonder if she could crochet around a paper bead instead?
