Flickr Favorites

I'm not an obsessive kind of collector but I love to keep bits and bobs that I pick up here and there. Mainly these are things from nature: shells, leaves, pebbles, sticks,...
Apart from that, I keep things in jars. I have a hard time to throw away glass jars, they get a second life in our house. I keep stuff in them. Wooden balls, buttons, yarn, matchboxes, beads, lace,... It helps me organise all the things I just can't throw away as I'm convinced that all of it will come in handy one day.
Are you a collector? What do you collect? Do you use jars? And what do you put in them? Ohh, I'm so curious! :)

If you like to play this week, make your mosaic and add a link to your to your blogpost (NOT your blog please) or Flickr. Click on the button below and fill in your name with the link to your blogpost or Flickr picture. I'll try to pop over to have a look at yours.

Very decorative this must be in all these jars ... and it can lead to extra creativity, I am sure !
Beautiful selection Mitsy :) Kx
very pretty mosaic, Mitsy!
Lovely photos!
I love my collections: owls, postcards, fridge magnets. I used to collect sugar packets from coffee shops, but my grandma needed some sugar at some point and there went my collection...
We are not heavy collectors, we think... at least compared to some time ago. Some of our old collection might become new products one day.
I am a collector of buttons. And I also keep them in glass jars.
Only lately I began using them. I guess there's more to it that just taking them out of the jars now and then and look at them.
I also collect yarn and rocks, but that's more a hoarding thing. You know, that kind of collecting you have to hide from your friends and family because it's out of control....
Beautiful grouping of pictures!! I will have to make a flickr favorites on my collectables next week :)
I'm not a collector... I think I end up getting tired of it or I just try to resist to the temptation of keeping too much stuff in the house (yes, if I was a collector there is a chance that I would be a kind of obsessive one!). I just love to keep memories of travels or events like concerts and exhibitions... I keep them all in a kind of a diary! I used to write on it, but now that I don't have the time, I just keep on collecting the paper memories... :)
I can imagine all the glass jars filled with happy girls :-)
buttons, i collect lots of buttons. or would if we had more space lol
the ones i do have are in jars or on things I have made
Lovely collection! I'm definitely a collector - cobalt blue glass, perfume bottles, pharmacy bottles, Robertsons gollies, ebony elephants, and beads, beads, beads!
I sort of collect snow-globes :) I love how there are so many, so different of them out there. Sometimes I daydream what it would be like to live in one. A tiny little world all for me :)

By the way, where can I check what the themes, when there is one, for the flickr favorites mosaics?

I LOVE snowglobes and everyone who knows me is on the lookout for unusual places and "snow" in snowglobes. I have a snowglobe from Tahiti that has glitter for snow. The irony of a "snowglobe" from Tahiti makes me chuckle. I have a fog filled snowglobe from San Francisco. I haven't a clue as to how the fog is created but it is one cool snowglobe. I have over 100 right now and hope to continue to add to my collection through my travels and those of my friends. I'm claustrophobic so I have no desire to live in one. I would like to live on my own island , though.
Basically my jars are saved for putting left over food into. We never seem to have enough containers for left overs. I like Jenya's idea of a glass filled with happy girls. :)
If I have more than 2 of anything it starts a new collection for me. At present I have: seaglass, shells, pebbles from places I've visited, tacky souvenirs, snowglobes, wooden push puppets, keychains, and limoges boxes. I love collecting and never go on a trip without being prepared with bubble wrap.
