Part of something bigger - volume 1

Last Friday, I received a package from Ama from Miss Minoes. I was very surprised and thought it was very sweet of her to send wishes and a gift for Julie. It was a text balloon that was made with wire and yarn. There was a word in the middle & I didn't really know what it meant but she wrote that the word 'als' meant dreams and fantasy but also that it was part of something bigger...
A bit mysterious to me and I actually searched the net to find if there was a meaning of the word 'als' but couldn't find anything really. So I let it go and reckoned that what Ama said would be true and I was happy with the pretty text balloon.
Today, the postman rang and delivered many packages from all over Europe. All from people that I know via Etsy. Hmm, I was very surprised and started with opening the envelopes from Austria. Baa from Baahar and Renate from Kreativlink send me the following: (the words mean 'a')
Then I opened a package from Belgium from Sandra from Zsazsazsu. The word on the hanger is 'small rose' accompagnied with rose petals and a beautiful, tiny, crocheted rose.

There was also a package from Germany from Ella from P8buttonart. It was a hanger made with buttons and the word says 'door'
Swee from Swiedebie (Netherlands) send two beautiful hearts and the words on there are 'as' and 'the'...
Inger from Ingermaaike send a mobile with a felted tree all the way from  Norway and the word 'as' was embroidered onto it.
Up until now I don't have a clue what all these words are trying to say but I suspect that there are more words on the way to complete it. After all, they seem to be part of something bigger...
I can't wait for the postman tommorrow. Thank you all for the sweet & very unexpected surprise for Julie!!

Secret Spring Fairy

In case you don't know, I'm part of the European Streetteam on Etsy. An amazing group of like minded people. Twice a year, a swap is organised by someone from the team. The past few years, I matched all the people and got to know all the secrets but I retired after the last swap.
The new swap-chief is, Judit from Vadjutka so this time I could participate. Yeah!
Thanks so much Judit for mixing and matching and organising this wonderful swap-event! You're a perfect spring fairy! :)

Even though I knew I'm in a swap, I was still very surprised when the mailman rang the doorbell. My secret swap friend was Inger from Ingermaaike. Inger makes the most amazing, mindblowing felt creations and I'm superhappy to be the proud owner of my very own Inger-wrap! :)
Look how lucious the wool & silk looks and it is mighty soft too!
And sweet Inger also made me a lovely felt flower - equally soft and what an advantage: I never have to worry about watering it! :)
Thanks so much, Inger, I love the secret swap gift you made for me.
Don't forget to check out Inger's lovely shop, filled with magical felted goodies! :)

European Streetteam Challenge entry

Last week I won the European Streetteam challenge & I had to pick a new theme for the week.
It was no surprise that I chose 'babushka's' as a source of inspiration I suppose.
Anyway, while I was sick, I decopatched on the couch as not to feel completely useless. Here is my entry for the challenge:I listed the one above in my shop & will list the other ones later this week!
Go look at all the marvelous entries here! I'll pick a winner tonight! :)

Challenge entry

I could not be happier with this weeks challenge theme chosen by DeerLola on the European Streetteam. It's been ages since I participated in the European Streetteam challenges. The challenges usually only last a week and sometimes that is just too short to finalize a ceramic project.
This week's challenge was called 'Ode to Anna' aka AnnaRubyKing or LilaRubyKing.
Read more about it on DeerLola's blog:
I've been admiring Anna's work from the first time I saw it and above that, Anna is just a super lovely person all around so it was such a pleasure to make something inspired by her work.

These birds make me smile and even though that they can't sing, they are still called singing birds because each and every one of them is inspired by the 2D birds of AnnaRubyKing.
And I have also made a few to use in a moss terrarium. And I have another idea in mind with these birds but they need some more fine tuning. I might have a new production line in my ceramic factory here! They are available in my Etsy shop.

Woot woot! Thank you so much everyone who casted their vote on the Etsy voter!
My ceramic set has been chosen by the Etsy community as high-end luxury item for the holidays. It has been published in the Storque, Etsy's handmade blog, today. One click on the picture below will bring you right to it! :) I'm thrilled about this - thanks for so much love! :)
