How to make a spooky fingerpuppet?

These little ghosts are super fun to make for kids and adults.
You can keep entertaining and silly conversations between all of your fingers or just use 'em as decoration for you home, table or as a prop in your product listings.
You can whip 'em up in no time and they make great companions so here's what you need:

Plaster of Paris, Vaseline, little bowl of water,
a permanent marker and a plastic bag to protect your table.

Cut strips of 2cm or 1inch of the Plaster of Paris.

Cut a few squares too.

Put some Vaseline on a finger.

Dip a strip of Plaster of Paris in the bowl of water.

Put a few strips on your fingers.

It will take about 10 minutes to set.
Sit still and relax.

Take off the plaster fingers.

Dip a larger square into the bowl of water.

Place it on top of the plaster finger.Put the finger on the plastic bag and drape the Plaster of Paris a bit.

Let it dry.Draw with the permanent marker eyes and a mouth.

Your ghostly companions are ready for Halloween fun!

How to make a halloween ghost?

Halloween is still some time away but most people start decorating a few weeks before already. I wanted to share this fun project with you. It's easy to make and it's a great result for decorating your window sill or cabinet. I'm sure lots of kiddies will enjoy making these ghosts. Boo!
Here is what you need:

plaster, little plastic container, clothespeg, wooden stick, water in a container,
plaster bandages, wire, paper balls (1 large & 2 smaller ones), scissors, sharpie marker

Make some plaster. Use 1/3 water and 2/3 plaster.

Poor the plaster in the little plastic container.

Add the wooden stick in the middle of the container.
To hold it there you can let a clothespeg rest on the container.

While the plaster in the container is setting, cut up pieces of plaster.
Make some big (20cm or 7,5") and some smaller ones (10cm or 4")

Take the plastic container around the plaster away.Punch with your scissors a hole in the biggest paper ball.Put the paper ball on top of the wooden stick.

Twist some wire around the stick and
add the smaller paper balls on the ends.

Dip the plaster band into a bit of water and gently
rub over it so that the holes fill itself with plaster.

Drape the plaster bands over the paper balls.

Continue draping more plaster bands over the wire too.

Let it dry for a while.

And add a happy face to it! This ghost is not so scary, is it? :)

You can make these in any size you like. If yo like to make a huge one, I advise you to dip old sheets into plaster. You will have to work quick then because the plaster will set fast.

How to make a Giacometti statue?

Do you know the work of Giacometti?
He was a Swiss sculptor, painter, draftsman and printer. His trademark are the stretched statues that look like they are never ending.
In this how to, I will show you how to make a similar statue so that you can make your own Giacometti. It looks a bit messy but it's fun to make - especially with children - and the result is super!
Here is what you need: plaster, a plastic yoghurt container, plaster of Paris bandages, a container with a bit of water, black ecoline, wire, paper tape, clothespins and scissors.Cut two small pieces of wire and fold them double.
Clasp the folded pieces of wire between a clothespin. Add another clothespin on the other side so that it can rest on a container later.
Cut off the upper part of the plastic yoghurt container.
Fill it with plaster.
Take the clothespegs and make 'em rest on the yoghurt container. Make sure that the ends of the wire are in the plaster. We will attach the legs of our statue onto them later on.
While the feet set, you can work on the body. We make it with wire and paper tape.
Cut a piece of wire of about 60cm or 24 inches and fold it double.
Make a loop in the middle and twist it around a bit. This will be the head.
Cut a piece of wire of about 50cm or 20inches and fold it double towards the middle where you attach it onto the body beneath the head. Make sure to make a little loop for the hands too.
Twist the body to create a belly and legs.
Then start putting paper tape around the wire to create a bit of tickness.
When that's done, it kind of looks like a mummy.
Now take the little yoghurt container with the plaster and cut away the plastic.
Then attach the legs to the bottom part.
This is how it will look.
Then cut pieces of the plaster bandages of about 15cm or 6inches and cut them in half again.
Now put the strips very shortly in a bit of water.
Then drape the pieces around the frame.
Let it dry for a while and when it's nearly dry, apply ecoline paint to it.
Doing this while the plaster is still damp, it will give an antique effect to the statue.
