Yesterday...

... I had some lovely people in my studio.
I love it when it's filled with chatting, laughter and lots of creativity.

This lady, Veerle from nevousinstallezpas,
asked me to throw a party for this lady, Marie from MarieMoo
And she secretly invited another friend of Marie as well.
Genious plan for a surprise party.
And lots of lovely things have been made.
We ran out of coffee but changed to bubbles instead. Oops!
Need to put coffee on my shoppinglist for next time although it was a lot of fun with the bubbles! :)
If you are interested in doing a workshop @ ArtMind, feel free to contact me for the details.

Results Etsy craftparty

The results after firing the pieces made at the Etsy craft party. The colors really got very intense and pretty. But this is not really the end result yet, as people will actually make stuff with this...
Be it jewellery, packages, use the buttons for bags or whatever they had in mind...
I hope to see some definate end results sometime! :)
Clicking on any of these pictures will bring you to an enlarged picture of the end result in my Flickr.
Nicole from BabongohomeGreet from FleurFatale
Kim from Viltalakim
Mariana from Florcita
Ina from DeerLola
Veerle from Nevousinstallezpas
Mitsy from ArtMind
Annemiek from TwoTreesBelgium made lovely things too but she took her goodies home with her so she could fire it in her own kiln. She also made some things in paper clay and fired 'em in a pitfire. I love how it turned out! :)

Etsy craft party pics

Last friday finally was the craftparty for Etsy's 5th birthday that I had planned for a while. I was so happy to welcome Nicole from Babongohome, Veerle from Nevousinstallezpas, Annemiek from TwoTreesBelgium, Ina from DeerLola, Mariana from Florcita, Kim from Viltalakim and Greet from FleurFatale. They all brought yummy food and drinks so that made organising a piece of cake. I just took care of the lunch and made two easy pasta recipes: spagetthi bolognese and vegetable/salmon lasagna. I also made a small dessert which is supereasy and yummy. You can find the recipe here.
I uploaded all the pictures I made to my Flickr stream, so head over here if you want to see 'em all. After explaining a bit about paper porcelain clay and the process, everyone got to work. Soon the tidy table became messy and lovely creations were in the making.
I didn't make many colorsamples beforehand so actually, all that has been made will be a big surprise for me too because all the colors will change after firing. Some will turn grey others will keep their color. Here's what has been made:
Veerle from Nevousinstallezpas
Ina from DeerLola
Mariana from Florcita
Kim from Viltalakim
Greet from FleurFatale
Nicole from Babongohome
Annemiek from TwoTreesBelgium
This last plate is mine. I wasn't very productive and just pressed some textures and stamps from Greet who was sitting next to me. She brought an awesome box of buttons and metal pieces that made fabulous textures so I was permanently rummaging through that box! :)
After it is fired, I plan to make a positive of these so I can use these textures myself.

So now I need to fire these goodies and I will send 'em to everyone. They will make something awesome from it, I'm sure of that and can't wait to see the end result! :)

Etsy Craft Party at studio ArtMind

Image from Etsy

Happy Birthday, Etsy!
Today Etsy is having it's 5th birthday and to celebrate that, they plan world wide craft party's. I have been planning this craftparty for a while now and I can't wait to get crafty with my Etsy friends. We'll play with paper porcelain clay. Paper porcelain clay is a fun material to work with. It is not as stubborn as regular porcelain clay and it is extremely white when fired.
I colored a few bits and bobs in color gradations to show you what the process and result could be.And this is what it looks when fired:Some colors really change a lot, it depends on what you use for coloring. I used stains, pigments and oxides. These are just examples and I have no clue what my crafty friends will make but I will definately show the result before and after firing. I'm curious myself...
Now excuse me, I think I hear my first guests arriving... happy day everyone! :)

My creative space

Ha, it's only mid-day and it feels like I've been non-stop doing things. After doing some early cleaning this morning, I went shopping. Today I'll prepare some food for lunch at my craftparty tommorrow. Later this afternoon, Nicole from Babongohome will already come to stay. I hope to get a lot done before she comes so we can go out for some icecream and enjoy the nice weather and chat some time away. :)

Want to show your space? Hop over to Kootoyoo's to play! It's fun! :)

Prepping a party - part 1

On June 18th, Etsy is having it's 5th birthday and to celebrate that, they plan world wide craft party's. I'm throwing one in my studio that day. Unfortunately my studio only has room for 8 people so it's going to be a small but fun party. It is a potluck style party so everyone is bringing something and most importantly themselves. We'll be claying, eating and chatting from 10AM till 5PM but not neccesarily in that order. I provide clay and other materials for the day. I'll be posting a few pics of the preparations over the next few days but won't tell yet what we'll be doing until the 18th of June...
Wanna see more? Take a peek next monday! :)

There are also 3 winners of the pimp pack!
Congrats Florigamigirl, Feyzadem and Gabi. Gabi, please let me know your address so I can send it. I could not find your e-mailaddress. Thanks! :)
